Daily practice to clear your energetic field and support immunity

Clear your energy field for a healthier immune system

It’s kind of hard to know what constitutes our “energy field”. What does this term mean, really? In my book, it’s the signature frequency vibration our bodies emit, made up of a combination of our thoughts, emotions, self-awareness, and physical state.

I’ve heard that a human’s frequency can extend many feet out from the body if one is in a truly relaxed and harmonic state. Usually, it feels to me as though our fields extend something like two feet out around us in all directions. You can feel your own frequency, or energy field, just by tuning into the feelings in your body in the current moment, and in the space surrounding you.

Of course, we’re all experienced in feeling disharmony in our own fields and in other peoples’. “Bad vibes” emanate from the body when we’re in a negative frame of mind, and we can feel this in another person from pretty far off. There’s nothing wrong with “negative” feelings of course – they couldn’t be more human. But sometimes negative energy (our own or others’) can get “stuck” in our energy field, hang around, and adversely affect our health.

For me, the daily practice of clearing my energy field feels amazing. It feels like it takes a load off my immune system and calms my mast cells, which have enough to do already healing Lyme disease.

Clearing your energy field

For empathetic people and those healing chronic illness, the mindfulness practice of keeping our own energy fields clean and clear can be a wonderful way to support a healthy immune system (and probably other systems as well). Here’s a simple, quick meditation practice that works well for me.

Start by sitting or lying down somewhere quiet and peaceful. If you’re in a hurry, you can even close your eyes standing up somewhere private and calm.

Visualize the energetic space surrounding your body, reaching out from your center about two feet all around. You may sense a certain color in this energetic field, or moving patterns of color. Just stay with what you experience for a bit.

When you’re ready, repeat the simple mantra “I allow my energy field to clear”. Pay attention to how your breathing changes with this mantra, and how the feeling of the field around you changes.

I usually experience draining energy in my field as color – just a sort of sticky patch that isn’t flowing or clear. You may notice it more as a feeling, or another sense. As you play with this meditation practice, the color or feeling will probably become clearer – like your field is being blown clean by a fresh wind.

Clearing other peoples’ energy from your field

You may also want to clear other peoples’ energy from your field, especially if you’re sensitive (like most of us with chronic illness or Lyme disease).

If it’s a specific person, try “I allow so-and-so’s energy to clear from my field”, or something along those lines. If it’s more general, try “I allow all extraneous energy to clear from my field”.

Whatever mantra feels to you as though it brings clarity, peace, and freedom to your field, go with that. This kind of work is extremely personal and creative, that’s part of what makes it fun.

Using acupressure points to help clear your field

It can be really helpful to incorporate acupressure points into your clearing practice. Here are the two that I use to help me clear my field and support immunity.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, energy enters the body through the acupuncture point kidney one, located right between the two balls of the feet.

Use your breathing to help you visualize clean, clear, Earth energy rising up from your two kidney one points. The energy flows up into your body and gathers in your heart center.

Your heart center carries your own, pure vibrational frequency. From your heart, your own clean, signature frequency spills out into the field around you, creating a glowing, vibrant cocoon supporting your whole body.

Visualizing these two points will help flush your own uniquely beautiful, clean energy through your body and into the field around you.

Tuning forks or tapping to support immune strength

We all find that sometimes the focus required by meditation is challenging. If you’re having a hard time staying present with pure visualization, using tapping or tuning forks can help.

Either before or during your meditation practice, try gently tapping with the tips of your fingers, or vibrating a tuning fork on your kidney one points, and then over your heart center. (I like the Acutonics tuning forks.) Start with your feet, end with your heart; bringing the energy up from the Earth and into your body.

It’s amazing what such a simple grounding and clearing practice can do for your sense of wellbeing. For me, clearing my energy field feels as though it takes a load off my immune system and my mast cells, which are already a bit quick to sound the alarm. Any additional peace and clarity is welcome. I hope this meditation does the same for you!
